With a view to promote products of other voluntary organizations, artisans and local entrepreneurs, and make available under one roof, interesting souvenirs for tourists and visitors, a Nature Shop was started in the year 2005. A total sale of Rs.1.78 lakhs was recorded this year and the venture earned a commission of Rs.0.30 lakhs, which helped to pay the salary of the shop manager.

Organizations such as, Mahila Umang Samiti, Ranikhet; Avani in Berinag; Panchachuli Women Weavers Association, Almora; Aepan, Bhimtal and Fruitage, Bhowali are partners in this endeavour. Besides Aarohi products, the shop has jams, pickles, hand-woven shawls, jackets, hand-knitted sweaters and booties, handcrafted ‘aepan’ picture frames, candles, locally produced silk and wool fibres, natural dyes and other articles representing revival of Kumaoni folk art.

The combined display of products from the region attracted patrons who were keen to showcase the range as representative of Kumaon region for a prestigious exhibition in Mumbai to be held in October 2007.
