Aarohi participated in an integrated watershed management project from 2004 – the Himmothan Pariyojana. In a watershed project critical resources, human and natural, are developed so that the area prospers as a whole. The PashyaNala Watershed was 511 ha in size. Working closely with the village communities, the Gram Panchayat and Van Panchayat, Aarohi achieved the following: capacity building of women and village bodies; introduction of alternative technologies, improvement of animal husbandry; and active village participation. In 2006, the government took over watershed work in the area.
